| What is the difference between tempered glass and laminated glass, are they both safety glass? |
Yes both Laminated and Tempered glass are considered safety glass.
Tempered Glass is hardened glass. The glass is cut to the required size and then put through a heating process to harden it. The result is glass that is approximately four times harder than its annealed version. When tempered glass breaks, it shatters into small pellets, reducing the chance of causing any serious injury.
Laminated Glass is two or more pieces of glass, stuck together. When laminated glass breaks, it is held together by the laminate that is sandwiched between the two pieces thereby reducing the chance of causing any serious injury. |
